DC Comics has announced at WonderCon a new series of one-shots called Retroactive. The books will have writers from each character’s particular era write an out of continuity story in the style of that era. The creators are:
Superman - Martin Pasko (‘70s), Marv Wolfman (‘80s), Louise Simonson (‘90s)
Batman - Len Wein (‘70s), Mike Barr (‘80s), Alan Grant (‘90s)
Wonder Woman - Denny O’Neil (‘70s), Roy Thomas (‘80s), William Messner-Loebs (‘90s)
Flash - Carey Bates (‘70s), William Messner Loebs (‘80s), Brian Augustyn (‘90s)
Green Lantern - Denny O’Neil (‘70s), Len Wein (‘80s), Ron Marz (‘90s)
JLA - Cary Bates (‘70s), Gerry Conway (‘80s), Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis (‘90s)
I honestly thought this was an April Fools day joke. If DC wants to shirk the idea that it caters to fanboy nostalgia this does nothing to dissuade people.
On the positive side, they included Wonder Woman. And I am happy they are bringing Louise Simonson back on Superman. That means there is at least one female writer. Also anytime Giffen and DeMatteis do the Justice League is a gift.
MIKE BARR WROTE SUCH AN ADORABLE JASON

I want a well-written Jason to happen very very soon please ;A;
there could have been...more Batgirl Babs story...they’re...
Wonder Woman? You know what this means? White pants...Johnny Double. Oh yeah.
The idea of nostalgia for 90’s comics is… odd, but it makes sense when you consider they’re going for original creators....
Looks like I’ll be buying
